Mawasalat will be launching the Muscat-Shinas-Khasab line on August 24 , which is the first link connecting the land and the sea with the Sultanate. To encourage everyone to experience this unique combination of the bus and ferry trip for the first time, the service will be free of charge for limited seats on the (Muscat-Khasab) and (Khasab-Muscat) line from August 24 -31 . There will be special prices for the people of Musandam province, with a 50 per cent discount on children's tickets from three to 12 years old, and free tickets for children under 3 years.
In line with this service, the National Ferries Company has decided to increase the passenger and vehicle capacity on this line by using the Hormuz ferry, which can transport more than 190 passengers and ship more than 40 vehicles.
The reservation will be available through Mwasalat offices in Azaiba, Burj Al Sahwa, Mabela and Sohur, as well as the call center and bookings offices of the National Ferries Company. Pre-booking will be allowed 24 hours before the departure of the flight.
There will be four weekly "round-trips"at different times. There will be two services on the Muscat-Shinas-Khasab route on Sunday and Thursday. The journey will take place on the same day from Muscat at 12:15 pm, leaving Shinas at 4:30pm to arrive at Khasab at 7:30 pm. Two services on the Khasab-Shinas-Muscat route on Saturday and Tuesday. The journey begins with the ferry on two days at the same time from Khasab at 1pm and the bus will depart Shinas at 4:50 pm to arrive at Muscat at 8:20pm.
