South Indian play to be staged today

‘Kadalasu Thoni’ (Paper Boat), a South Indian stage play by Theatre Group Muscat will be staged today at 6 pm at Al Falaj, the organisers said.
The nearly 3-hours-long drama, written by a Muscat resident, Jaypal Damodar and directed by a teacher from the Indian School Muscat, Ansar Ibrahim, will send some of the renowned names working both on and off stage.
‘Produced by Muscat Wealth Management International, ‘Kadalasu Thoni’ is an attempt to portray the lives of farmers in the Kerala district of Alappuzha and we are confident that we can give justice to the real life of the farmers there’, director Ansar Ibrahim told Observer.
Adv Shahjahan of KPAC, an ace stage artiste, will be honoured at the event. Artist Sujathan, a well-known name in stage art, is mastering the diversified scenes on stage; Manoharan Guruvayur, Theatre Manager; Jaypal Damodar, Akhil from Kochin Gold, were present at the press briefing.
A number of actors are giving life to different characters on stage. Ansar Ibrahim, KPAC Keralan, Sreevidya Raveendran, Indu Baburaj, Jaison P Mathai, Leena Sudhesh, Manoharan Guruvayur, Sily Varghese, Thomas G Kunnappalli, Veena Kalesh, Vinod G, Basheer Erumely are to name a few.
Lyrics is by Muhad Vembayam while Boby Xavier gives the score and the songs are rendered by Venugopal Nair, Lakshmi Vijay and Vineeth V.
The organisers added that the show will begin at 6 pm today and entry is free.
