MUSCAT: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organise next week at the Sheraton Oman Hotel a ceremony to honour the winning companies in OCCI Social Responsibility Competition in its second edition in 2017 which came to highlight the role of the private sector.
Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, will sponsor the honouring ceremony.
OCCI aims to spread the culture of social responsibility in society, to highlight the outstanding role of institutions and companies in this regard, to encourage the positive competition of companies to contribute to the economic, social and environmental aspects of society, to promote the pursuit of sustainable development and to encourage innovation in this area.
The second edition of OCCI Award was announced in January last year. The award targeted the local and international institutions and companies affiliated with OCCI in various economic sectors. — ONA
