Shura office reviews ministerial replies, discusses Rohingya issue

Muscat: Majlis Ash’shura Office meeting on Tuesday chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, discussed a number of ministerial replies about the parliamentary questions by members of Majlis Ash’shura. The replies included the reply of the Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs about downgrading the credit rating of the Sultanate.


The Office members also reviewed the reply of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries on the question about fish consumption levels among citizens and the reply of the Minister of Higher Education on the question about the vacant study seats at the public universities and colleges.


The meeting also reviewed the reply of the Minister of Higher Education on the question about corporate social responsibility of the higher education institutions in the Sultanate.


It also discussed from members of Majlis Ash’shura, members of Majlis Ash’shura standing committees, the secretariat general, private establishments and citizens and took appropriate procedures towards them.


It also reviewed the circular of the Secretariat General of the Union of Organization for Islamic Cooperation Conference on the dilemma of Rohingya people from Rakhine State. It also discussed the circular of the secretariat General of the Arab Parliamentary Union on a number of reports related to Palestine issue, as well as the decisions of the 25th extraordinary conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union on the Israeli violation of the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque. — ONA
