Shura Council to discuss student hostels

By Staff Reporter — MUSCAT: Dec. 3: The Shura Council will host Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, on December 7 and 8 to discuss policies for higher education in the Sultanate, strategies and five-year plans and the faculties of applied sciences. It will focus on student hostels in higher education institutions affiliated to the ministry. The meeting will discuss the impact of oil prices on the ministry’s programmes and the ways to meet the requirements of the labour market. The quality of private higher education will be also reviewed along with the licensing process for the establishment of private higher education institutions and employment policies. The meeting will also discuss housing facilities for students of the Colleges of Applied Science and private higher education institutions.
