Shihab claims fourth spot in F4 racing in France

MUSCAT, Sept 10 - Oman’s talented Formula 4 racer Shihab bin Ahmed al Habsi finished at fourth place in the junior level of Formula 4 races at de Nevers Magny-Cours circuit in France. With this new achievement, Shihab sealed a qualification spot at the sixth round in Spain which is scheduled to be held during September 6 to 10. The Omani teenager commenced his first round of racing campaign at 18th position as he clashed with another opponent in a small accident. During the second race, he registered a very strong comeback and finished the round at 13th place. Then he qualified for the final race round and achieved fourth place in overall race.

Al Habsi affirmed that he will focus on his training sessions in the coming few days to have a better preparation for the upcoming round. He mentioned that training will be divided into physical, technical and mental aspects as focus is the main key to record good results in the race. He noted that his opponents are getting better training as they have circuits to train while it is not available in the Sultanate.

“During my participation at the international races, I am keen to promote the Sultanate. These races are golden opportunity to boost the our country’s tourism. I would like to have some more support from government and private sector as the races very expensive,” Al Habsi concluded.
