MUSCAT: The Royal Navy of Oman vessel (RNOV) Shabab Oman II has departed the Port of Le Havre after participating in the Le Havre Festival. The ship was seen off by Commodore Salim bin Nasser al Qasmi, Military Attaché at the Sultanate’s Embassy in France, and a number of festival-goers. Shabab Oman II has concluded her participation in the international maritime festivals as part of her global ‘peace and friendship sail’ during which the ship covered 11,000 nautical miles. As many as 291,000 people, including officials and ambassadors, visited the ship during her stopovers in ports. The ship will call at other ports in Europe, north Africa and the Middle East spreading a message of international peace and friendship. — ONA
