Schoolics exposition aims to spread traffic awareness

By Thuraiya Al Hosni — MUSCAT, April 4 - An exhibition, Schoolics Exhibition 2017, was organised by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Private Schools, and held under the auspices of Shaikh Salim bin Mustahil al Mashani, Councillor at the Diwan of Royal Court.


It was attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development and Dr Hamoud al Harthi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Curriculum.


The annual exhibition aims to spread traffic awareness, introduce the latest school buses, identify the largest number of private schools with international competence, as well as exchange experiences, information and ideas. It also aims to shed light on the latest curricula and services carried out by the Directorate-General of Private Schools, to help the educational process achieve its objectives in the upbringing of generations. Students from Al Mouj Private School gave a sports performance, followed by a poem by poet Matar al Buraiki, while students from Al Ranim Private School gave a performance entitled ‘Security and Safety’.


The ceremony also witnessed a presentation of Oman Holding Company for Environmental Services, followed by Operetta titled ‘Security and Safety’ performed by students from Al Takween Private School. The Royal Oman Police also presented the ‘Little Policeman’ contest in the opening ceremony.


Private and international schools participated in the exhibition to showcase their experiences, leadership models and quality of services. The Ministry of Social Development also participated in the exhibition and reviewed aspects of the Child Law and its protection mechanisms.


The Directorate-General for the Control of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances also participated in the awareness exhibition, with some of its publications and awareness pictures that show the seriousness of substance abuse and its impact on the individual, the family, community and the methods of prevention.


The exhibition also included a cornerstone of the Sindbad Mobile Children’s Initiative, an initiative of Al Rowia al Iqtisadiya newspaper that aimed at instilling a love of reading and fostering a passion in children and young people.


The exhibition also included a participation from Mwasalat as a sponsor for private schools and its requirements to introduce the community and all the authorities concerned with the advanced systems of the school buses, which are equipped with high quality techniques in school safety.
