School visits to Sohar University begin

SUHAR: Based on the community cooperation between Sohar University and various institutions, the university has begun receiving students from various schools on its campus on October 2. In order to emphasise the importance of school visits, the university has been keen to organise the students’ reception programme, which included students’ induction to various programmes and degrees offered by the six faculties of the university as well as various facilities and services provided by the

university.

The services provided by the university to schools also included the field visits organised by the concerned in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Education in Northern Al Batinah where the lecturers with a high level of expertise in various fields provide workshops to students within the school campus. This led to raising the level of students’ awareness of the University’s programmes and specialties, that benefit them in the future towards choosing the appropriate specialisation for their university stage.

Within the framework of the University’s efforts to strengthen the relationship with the local community, the university has facilitated the schools and directorates to organise various events on campus as well as various workshops and lectures in the schools of different levels. It is worth mentioning that about 3,000 students have visited the university from various governorates of the Sultanate during the past year.
