Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, received General Joseph L Votel, Commander of the United States (US) Central Command, in his office at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the military cooperation between the Sultanate and the US, in addition to discussing a number of matters of common concern between the two friendly countries. The meeting was attended by Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the US ambassador to the Sultanate, the military attaché at the US Embassy in Muscat and the delegation accompanying the guest. The US commander also held separate meetings with Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, and Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani.
