Sayyid Asaad takes part in Arab Summit in Jordan

DEAD SEA: Delegated by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, took part in the 28th Arab Summit, which commenced in the Dead Sea in Jordan on Wednesday. Earlier, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar, received His Highness Sayyid Asaad in his residence in Dead Sea.  During the meeting, His Highness Sayyid Asaad conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos along with best wishes of good health and wellbeing to Sheikh Tamim and the Qatari people progress and prosperity.

On his turn, Sheikh Tamim asked His Highness Sayyid Asaad to convey his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people progress and growth.


During the meeting, the march of fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and avenues of bilateral cooperation were reviewed, in addition to the topics listed on the agenda of the 28th Arab Summit.

The meeting was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdallah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Legal Affairs, Dr Fuad bin Jaafar al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Khalifa bin Hamad al Badi,  Adviser at the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, Saif bin Ahmed al Sawafi, Adviser at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Qatari  officials.

His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said also met with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) on the sidelines of the 28th Arab Summit.


His Highness Sayyid Asaad reviewed ties of cooperation with the UN and all international and regional organisations, as well as the Sultanate’s international relations that aim at achieving security and stability.


On his turn, the UN Secretary-General hailed the efforts being exerted by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to support international stability, peace and security. — ONA
