Samsung just launched a new line of gaming monitors at Gamescom that aren’t just fast, but fairly inexpensive as well. The series, labelled CJG5, delivers many of the core features every gamer would want on their monitor, but sheds the unnecessary extras to keep the price down. The lineup boasts curved panels which Samsung says provides a more natural focus for one’s eyes. They also feature a speedy 144 Hz refresh rate, which should pave the way for buttery-smooth gaming experiences. Unfortunately, the CJG5 is only available in two variants: users can choose between 27 and 32 inches, and both come in a standard 16:9 aspect ratio with a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. The display is VA instead of IPS. They also don’t have Samsung’s fancy schmancy quantum dot technology, but that was probably left out to cut costs. Samsung has yet to unveil details such as pricing and release date in the United States.
