Responding to summer surges in demand for travel, SalamAir, Oman’s first budget airline, has introduced new seasonal routes to key destination in the region and increased the frequency of its services on popular flights. The airline will be operating two direct flights per week between Salalah and Taif and from June 28 to September 15 will be flying three times per week from Salalah to Suhar, while increasing services to Muscat to 31 times a week.

The new seasonal routes come as a result of the anticipated increase in domestic and regional travelers during the busy Khareef season, which saw a record 653,000 visitors in 2016. Delivering on its promise to open the skies for guests to experience more, SalamAir’s low fare return tickets to Taif start from RO 88 while return fares from Suhar are available for only RO 24 return.

“SalamAir is excited to introduce these new services during the busy summer period and offer guests an affordable quality option as they make their travel plans,” said François Bouteiller, SalamAir CEO.

“Since our launch SalamAir has focused its efforts on catering to demand, particularly on under-served routes. An excellent example of this innovative strategy is our new service between Salalah and Taif which is the first ever direct flight between these two cities. This route will not only give Umrah goers more choice but also make their travel more convenient.”

François went on to highlight, “Central to our seasonal schedule are our Muscat and Suhar flights to Salalah which will provide much needed connectivity and capacity to meet the steadily increasing number of people wishing to experience Khareef and enjoy the cooler temperatures in the Dhofar Governorate.”

Connecting Salalah with Taif in less than three hours and with Suhar in under two hours, the new seasonal services are fully integrated with SalamAir’s regular flights, and offer seamless connections to the budget airline’s daily flights to Dubai, and Jeddah as well as its three weekly services to Medina and Sialkot.
