Setting a strong pace for 2018, SalamAir has announced the launch of its first destination in Iran. Starting February 28, 2018, Oman’s budget airline will operate two weekly flights to Shiraz with ticket fares of RO 80 (return). “Despite its increasing popularity as a medical and tourism destination, Shiraz has remained an underserved route for years with no direct flights from Muscat,” highlighted Capt Mohamed Ahmed (pictured), CEO of SalamAir. “In response to public demand, we have made it a priority in our 2018 plans and are confident that our guests will enjoy our affordable prices and convenient timings.”

Since its launch, SalamAir has kept a close eye on the market, analysing demands and identify emerging trends that have allowed it to remain competitive in the current economic climate. This approach will see the airline launch two other destinations within the Islamic Republic, namely Tehran and Mashhad, as well as routes in Asia. These ambitious plans will be supported by the addition of three aircrafts to the SalamAir fleet in 2018.

Capt Mohamed went on to say, “2017 was a milestone year for us as it marked our beginning in the aviation sector. Today, our home-grown airline has connected over half a million passengers to more than 8 destinations and we are looking forward to continue building on our success. The support of our guests has played a pivotal role in our journey, from our side we will continue to provide alternative options to our customers by listening closely to their needs and provide a great value for the money as we spread our wings and fly to new destinations.”

SalamAir will be operating flights to Iran’s third largest city every Sunday and Wednesday departing from Muscat at (12:50) and arriving in Shiraz International Airport at (13:50). In addition to Shiraz, the SalamAir network today consists of 9 destinations including Muscat, Salalah, Suhar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan and Sialkot.
