Salalah Port receives 34 cruise ships in 2016

SALALAH: Salalah Port received last year 34 cruise ships with 35,524 tourists on board from various nationalities, compared to 29,000 tourists in 2015. Mohammed bin Uffait al Maashani, General Manager for Corporate Affairs, at Port of Salalah said that cruise ship traffic was active during April and November 2016. The number of cruise ship in April was 8 ships with 7,300 tourists on board while in November was 11 ships with 14,000 tourists on board. He added that the tourist programme included tours to the most important archeological and historical landmarks in the Governorate of Dhofar, such as Frankincense Land Museum, Al Baleed Archaeological Park, Frankincense trees sites in Samahram, Archeological Park and Taqah Castle, besides visiting beaches and traditional markets. — ONA
