Salalah CAS, OAMC discuss student-staff training needs

SALALAH: As part of its marketing campaign, the senior officials of Salalah College of Applied Sciences (CAS) paid a visit to Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) at Salalah Airport. The visit was aimed at introducing the college’s academic programmes and services to the OAMC staff members and convincing them to benefit from the courses.


The visit, according to the college’s Public Relations Department, was also aimed at discussing issues of common interest between the two institutions.


The college team led by the Dean, Dr Ahmed Balkhair met the OAMC officials Mohammed Ahmed al Rawas, Senior Maintenance Manager and Acting General Manager of Salalah Airport, Mohammed Omar al Shaikh, Employee Relations Specialist and Khalid Jamal al Shanfari, Training Officer. Present on the occasion were Abdel Rauf al Oraimi, Director of the Dean Office and Adil Dashisha, Head of Training Centre, CAS Salalah.


Dr Ahmed Balkhair explained about various programmes and majors offered by the college as well as the training programmes and the community service programmes that are available for both public and private sector institutions.


“By such visits we try to build bridges of cooperation with various community organisations in the public and private sectors to achieve the common objectives of excellence and seek to integrate them and exchange views and experiences,” said Abdel Rauf.


“At OAMC we discussed various academic issues and possible cooperation between the two institutions, especially in the field of training and support,” he said.


Mohammed al Rawas of OAMC praised the college’s initiative and promised to cooperate with college especially in the training programmes for the college students and the company employees alike.
