MUSCAT, April 24 - Rustaq are back in the Omantel League after a gap of one season after they defeated Majees Club 1-0 in the penultimate round of the First Division League at Majees Club in Suhar on Sunday. Suhail al Shaqsi netted the winner for Rustaq off a free-kick in the second half after the first half ended with a goalless draw. The victory ensured that the South Al Batinah team climbs to the top spot of the league with 18 points followed by Majees, who are in the second place with 17 points. Majees and Rustaq have already sealed their promotion to the Omantel League while Seeb and Sur are vying for the third direct spot.

Meanwhile, Sur missed out on a golden chance to qualify for the Omantel League as the third club after they were handed a 2-1 defeat by Seeb at home in front of their adoring fans. The final round matches of the First Division League will be very competitive. Seeb and Sur will be eager to claim a slot for themselves in the Omantel League.  Sur, who are currently the third placed team with 16 points, have a better chance of making it through as compared to the fourth placed Seeb who have 13 points.

A draw would be sufficient for Sur to qualify for the Omantel League while Seeb must win and wait for Sur to lose their match. All the final round matches of the First Division League will kick off at 7 pm on April 27th. Seeb will face Majees at the Seeb Stadium while Sur will make the trip to Muscat to lock horns with Bausher. The newly promoted Rustaq will take on Bahla at the Rustaq Club.
