Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) celebrated its Annual Day at military parade ground in Said Bin Sultan Naval Base on Thursday. The Annual Day ceremony, which falls on November 3 every year, was presided over by Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin bin Salim al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs. The ceremony began with the welcome salute to the chief guest.

Then, the RNO Music Band played the Royal Anthem upon the arrival of the chief guest at the parade ground.

After that, the chief guest inspected the front parade column and then presented long service and good conduct medals on RNO commissioned and non-commissioned officers and personnel.

The columns then made a formation featuring the logo of Said Bin Sultan Naval Base and Oman.

After that, participants at the parade chanted the RNO anthem and proclaimed thrice Long Live His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The ceremony was attended by commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), military and security departments, members of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura, governors and walis in the Governorates of North and South Al Batinah, senior officers at SAF and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), military attaches, RNO senior officers, commissioned and non-commissioned officers, retired officers, and personnel, as well as civil and military invitees. — ONA
