Royal Hospital conference to begin on Saturday

MUSCAT: The 1st Royal Hospital International Conference will begin at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday under the auspices of Sayyid Dr Fahad bin Al Julanda al Said, Assistant Secretary General for Innovation Development at The Research Council.


The three-day conference is organised by the Ministry of Health (MoH) represented by the Directorate General of Royal Hospital in collaboration with the Oman Medical Specialties Board (OMSB) and the Oman Medical Association.


The conference is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of its idea as a spectrum of conferences representing most of RH specialties.


The conference is expected to witness a wide range of local and international participations of more than 3,500 participants representing medical and assistant medical categories from the Royal Hospital, as well as Sultanate’s different health institutions, the private sector, and associations, in addition to participants from the GCC countries.


A total of 84 scientific sessions will be run by 228 prominent lecturers, medical and healthcare experts of the multidisciplinary specialisations from Oman, GCC, and worldwide.


The 1st Royal Hospital International Conference will include the specialties of Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Child Health, Medical Laboratories (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology, and Histopathology), Medicine, Genetics, Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Nursing, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Obs-Gynee), Pharmacy, Radiology, Surgery, Urology, and Emergency (ER).


The three-day conference will discuss plenty of specialised topics through 280 working papers and includes an accompanying exhibition of the pharmacy companies and medical equipment.


A number of three pre-conference workshops will be held on Friday. The first workshop concerned with Medical Physics, the second underlined Anaesthesia Ultrasound guided regional blocks, and the third focuses on Anaesthesia Bronchoscopy in critical care.


The conference aims to explore the latest advancements of the involved medical specialties, build up regional and international scientific expertise, in addition to viewing the innovative technology, drugs, and device of the pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment.


NEPHROLOGY CONFERENCE


The first Oman International Nephrology Conference will begin at Hormuz Grand Hotel on Thursday under the auspices of Dr Sultan bin Ya’rub al Busaidi, Ministry of Health’s Advisor for Health Affairs.


The Conference is organised by the Nephrology Department at the Royal Hospital (RH). The conference is expected to witness a participation of more than 270 medical and assistant medical concerned with renal care from the Sultanate’s different Health Institutions, as well as from Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), private sector, in addition to other participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.


The conference is hosting prominent international consultants and experts in Nephrology from the Sultanate as well as Lebanon, US, Canada, England, France, Italy, India, and Iran.


The Oman International Nephrology Conference is held with the objective of upgrading the participants’ scientific level in the field of Nephrology and Transplantation through viewing the latest advancements and techniques used in diagnosis and treatment domains.


The conference’s sessions involve various scientific lectures that address a number of aspects related to nephrology including updates in the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in Kidney Diseases (KDs), in addition to peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis. Moreover, lectures will review compatibility in Kidney transplantation and post-transplantation problems. — ONA
