Royal Cavalry wins best breeder for 2017 season in UK

LONDON: Royal Cavalry won the 51st annual award of best Arabian breeder in the United Kingdom (UK) for 2017 season.


The award was presented from the Horserace Writers and Photographers Association under the supervision of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club by General Nasser Sherida al Kaabi to Captain Salim bin Humoud al Hakmani, racing section officer in London at Lancaster Hotel.


Winning this award is appreciation for the Royal Cavalry’s top positions in British horse racing courses.


The event was attended by well-known horse breeders, trainers, jockeys and judges.


Royal Cavalry’s horses won many races in 2017.


Nafees, for example, won the British Debry Cup on Doncaster racecourse, Riyam came the first in Newbury racecourse, and Sylvine Al Murry was first too whereas Al Karamah came second in International Dubai Raceday.


These top results were achieved under the supervision of Omani trainers including Said bin Bati al-Badi who won best trainer award in UK Arabian Horse Racing for 2017.


Brigadier General Abdul Razzaq bin Abdul Qader al Shahwarzi, Commander of the Royal Cavalry, said that the 51st Annual Award from Horserace and Photographers Association for 2017 is fruitful result of its continuous achievements in various international competitions and it has its place in the international horse racing map.


He thanked the Secretary General of Royal Court Affairs for his support. He also added that the Royal Cavalry will seek to continue achieving advanced results and positions at upcoming events as planned. — ONA
