Royal Cavalry wins 2 cups at Dubai race

LONDON: The Royal Cavalry won two cups at the 36th version of Dubai International Day for Pure Arabians, which was held in Newbury racecourse in the United Kingdom (UK).


Top Arabian horses from Europe and Arab states took part in this race.


Royal Cavalry’s Riyam came first in the 3rd race, which was confined for the 2nd class of 3-year-old category where 11 horses competed for 1,400 metres. This horse was ridden by the jockey Macanzi and trained by Said al Badi while Shumoos from Athba Stables came second and was ridden by Taj Osshi and trained by Philip Kolington and the stallion Mawai ridden by Belsslr and trained by Ki Fin Den came third.


The Royal Cavalry’s mare Sylvine al Maury retained its title in the Free Zone Race, which was confined to the 1st class and ran for 2,000 metres. This mare won this title also last year and this year it secured the same in the 5th race, which was for pure Arabians of 4-year old and above (for fillies and mares). Nine horses competed in this race.


Sylvine al Maury, which was injured lately, proved that it is coming back strongly and could win the first position after the competition seen in the race.


The mare was ridden by Bernard and trained by Elizabeth.


Sylvine al Maury is one of the best mares in the world and won Best Mare awards two times.


Also, the Royal Cavalry’s Karamah came second in the same race and was jockeyed by Oliver and trained by Rahyout.


The Royal Cavalry also won two bronze medals at the West Coast Arabian Horse Cup Championship, which was held in Belgium.


The filly Basirah RC was crowned with the bronze title of two-year-old fillies.


The mare Martina won the bronze title after winning the first place in the 7-year-old mares to qualify for the finals. It also achieved third place and the title of the bronze title of the mares. — ONA
