MUSCAT: The 5th Oman Local Arabian Horse Beauty Contest will be held on January 20, Friday. The 2-day contest is organized by the Royal Cavalry of the Royal Court Affairs at Al Rahba Race Course in the Wilayat of Barka. 37 horses of the Royal Cavalry, Sultan Qaboos University, the German University and a number of private staples in the Sultanate will participate in the contest that will be held under the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations ECHAHO. The contest schedule includes nine categories. The first category is for foals from one to three years, the second category for mares from four to five years, the third category for mares from 6 to 8 years, the fourth category for mares elder than 9 years, the fifth category for 2-year old colts, the sixth category 3-year old colts, the seventh category for stallions from 4 to 7-year, the eighth category for stallions 8 years and above and the last category for castrated horses. Royal Cavalry, SQU, Oman Equestrian Federation, the Ministry of Tourism, the Public Authority for Craft Industries will have various exhibitions on the sidelines of the contest. — ONA
