ROP urges motorists to drive safe during holidays

Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has urged all motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic rules while taking to the roads with families.


Colonel Ahmed bin Sultan al Nabhani, assistant director general of Traffic, said ROP will continue to ensure safety of road users during the Eid holidays, by intensifying police patrols, supervising roads and providing timely assistance.


Nabhani said there is need to be careful and driving cautiously as the excess speed will negates the vehicle ability of the drivers to deal surprises on the road and control the vehicle.


He called on all motorists to adhere to the speed specified and avoid racing on public roads.  ROP urged the motorists not to busy with the phone while on the road.
