NIZWA: The Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences on Sunday concluded at its shooting ranges the Royal Oman Police (ROP) shooting contest for 2018 under the auspices of Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, in the presence of Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs. In all, 1,514 male and female shooters representing 101 teams (30 for the officers, 26 for the female police and 45 for other ranks) took part at the content. The concluding day witnessed fierce competition among the different teams and formations to win top places. At the end of the contest, Gen Al Numani honoured winners and handed over the contest shield and cups to top winning teams. — ONA
