MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has launched the second phase of e-visa, which includes sponsored tourism visa and express visa. The newly-introduced procedure is expected to speed up issue of visas on the ROP site. Brigadier Hilal bin Ahmed al Busaidy, Director-General of Passport and Residence, said the move will streamline the issue of visa on the ROP website (www.evisa.rop.gov.com) without the need to approach the service building. The ‘tourism unsponsored visa’ for citizens of certain countries is meant to boost tourism and national economy, said Al Busaidy. The move comes as part of ROP’s efforts to facilitate the services it renders to citizens and residents and complements the e-transformation process.
