Renaissance Day holiday announced

MUSCAT: Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, on Monday issued a decision declaring that Monday, 9 Dhul Qaada 1439 AH, corresponding to July 23, will be an official holiday for employees working in the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state administrative apparatus on the occasion of 23rd July Blessed Renaissance Day.


The minister extended heartfelt greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on this glorious occasion, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty for many years to come, the Omani people and our dear country further progress and welfare under his wise leadership.


Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, also issued a decision declaring that Monday (July 23) will be an official holiday for employees working in the private sector companies and establishments.


The decision allows employers and employees to agree on work arrangements during the holiday if the necessity arises.


Employees whose weekly-off coincides with the holiday of the aforesaid occasion must be compensated.


All employees in the private sector extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to His Majesty on this glorious occasion, praying to the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and long life, and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty and the Omani people with welfare and blessings. — ONA
