Mohamed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi has chaired a main emergency committee of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) to discuss the phenomenon of red tide in Barka and its impact on water production at desalination plants.

The committee reviewed a detailed presentation by the concerned team at the control center on the current situation due to the red tide , its impact on water production and the possible consequences.

The committee also reviewed the overall water supply situation and the measures taken, which include linking of Sohar and Al Ghubhra stations to supply water to the governorates that depend on the desalination plant in Barka.
