Quality management to be implemented in Dakhiliyah

The General Directorate of Education for Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is preparing to implement ISO 9001 Quality Management System in all departments of the directorate in the second stage of implementing the system in the Ministry of Education (MoE).


An induction meeting was held in Al Dakhiliyah to start the plan under the auspices of Sulaiman bin Abdullah al Salmi, Director-General, department directors, department heads and staff of the directorate.


The director-general in his address pointed out the importance of the step to proper planning and increase productivity.


Fatima bint Mohammed al Nabhani, Head of Quality Control Department in Al Dakhiliyah, presented a paper explaining the concept of the new expansion of the senior management project according to the ISO quality system.


The programme is currently being implemented for version 9001/2015, which addresses the principles of focus on work, leadership, employee participation, continuous improvement, making decision based on evidence and facts, and relationship management.


She also reviewed the objectives of the Ministry of Education to implement ISO 9001 standards, including adoption of global recognised management system that leads to high quality services to achieve the satisfaction of the beneficiary.


In addition to obtaining the certification certificate by conforming the ISO 9001 standards from neutral entity and achieving material and economic gains through cost reduction, rationalisation of consumption, planning, removal of non-matching services and interact in the establishment of projects. As well as reduce the periods of completion of procedures and establish mechanisms for monitoring and measuring, and achieve the satisfaction of the beneficiary and adopt a sophisticated and unified management style of all divisions of the ministry and in the governorates to meet the needs of beneficiaries and provide material and human resources.


Fatima al Nabhani described the steps and stages of implementing the quality management system at the Ministry of Education and the corresponding divisions in the educational directorates in the governorates.


She focused on the second stage of implementation, which was distributed on a number of stages. The first stage which is the preparation stage raises awareness of the quality management system ISO 9001/2015 and the desired returns from activating the system in the ministry and the corresponding divisions in the educational directorates. A timetable for all employees of the ministry and its subdivisions was carried out within the timetables set for that purpose.


The assessment stage aims at analysing the current work system and determining its conformity with the requirements of the ISO 9001/2015 standard and preparing relevant schedule in the assessment stage and preparing a detailed plan to upgrade the current system from ISO 9001/2008 to ISO 9001/2015.


The third stage: Documentation stage, by documenting the division processes of conformity field according to the quality management system. She also talked about the universality of the system and the role of Quality Management Departments in following up the issue in terms of follow-up activation of the system. Through a central process to activate the system, training and awareness, and to summarise the challenges facing the system and raise them to the senior management and activate the periodic meetings and discuss the developments of the system.
