Quality management in higher education

MUSCAT: The Fourth Conference on Higher Education Quality Management and Development started at Oman Tourism College on Tuesday under the auspices of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service.


The two-day conference discusses various topics in the field of quality management and development in higher education.


The conference aims at spreading awareness and sharing good practices and experiences in the quality management sector in higher education by bringing together decision makers, higher education institutions and those concerned with the higher education sector, in addition to meeting the needs of relevant professionals locally, regionally and globally.


The minister said in a statement that there is a keenness by the higher education institutions to improve education in the field of public education and higher education, adding that the conference aims to push forward the improvement process in view of the importance of its outputs in active participation in development and nation-building, considering that such conferences provide the opportunity to meet with professionals in higher education.


The Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE) seeks to improve the quality of higher education by enhancing quality, improving practices and adopting a strategic plan that translates into operational plans based on recent trends and performance indicators to achieve its objectives in the higher education sector. — ONA
