MUSCAT: The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) held a meeting on Tuesday chaired by Shaikha Aisha bint Khalfan al Siyabiyah (pictured), Chairperson of PACI. The PACI Board discussed a range of issues related to developing investment in the craft sector and improving services rendered to craftsmen. The Board approved several decisions made to improve craft performance and work to ensure the continuity of projects and programmes for the development of the craft sector in the Sultanate.

The Board also discussed PACI land plots offered for investment and partnership with NGOs and the private sector at the different wilayats of the Sultanate. The PACI Board also touched on the craft initiatives that have been implemented during the past period. The Board reviewed PACI’s future plans and programmes. PACI seeks to launch several effective initiatives for the craft sector through the implementation of projects in various governorates of the Sultanate. The aim of these initiatives is to increase the growth of craft industries by adopting craft technologies that promote creativity and innovation at the craft sector. This in turn will ensure effective marketing and promotion of crafts. — ONA
