MUSCAT: The value of gross production for mines and quarries in the Sultanate in 2015 stood at about RO 10.23 billion; a decline by 35.5 per cent compared to RO 15.88 billion in 2014.
The production inputs registered a 27.7 per cent decline from RO 1.31 billion in 2014 to RO 947.2 million in 2015. The added value for mines and quarries dropped by 36.2 per cent to register RO 9.28 billion in 2015 compared to RO 14.57 billion in 2014.
The employee compensation increased by 1 per cent to RO 664.4 million in 2015 compared to RO 657.4 million in 2014.
As for the activities associated with mines and quarries, the value of gross production of crude oil stood at RO7.76 billion, the value of production inputs stood at RO 525.1 million, the added value stood at RO7.24 billion and the employee compensation stood at RO 321.4 million.
The value of gross production for the service activity related to oil and gas extraction hit RO 1.51 billion.
While the value of production inputs registered RO291.2 million, the added value hit RO 760.2 million and employee compensation stood at RO 297.1 million.
As for raw minerals extraction activity, the value of gross production stood at RO 56.3 million, the value of production inputs stood at RO 11.6 million, the added value stood at RO 44.7 million and the employee compensation stood at RO3.6 million. The value of gross production of stones, mud and sand stood at RO 152.2 million, the value of production inputs stood at RO 64.6 million, the added value stood at RO 87.7 million and the employee compensation stood at RO 23 million.
While the value of gross production of natural gas stood at RO 1.21 billion, the value of production inputs registered RO 54.7 million, the added value registered RO 1.15 billion and the employee compensation stood at RO 19.4 million. — ONA
