PEIE at Dubai Gulfood from today

MUSCAT: The Sultanate, represented by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), will participate in one of world’s largest annual food and hospitality events – Gulfood 2017, in Dubai starting from today, February 26 to March 2 at Dubai World Trade Centre.


This year, a number of Omani companies specialised in food industry will participate under the umbrella of PEIE including Dhofar Poultry, Al Saffa Foods, Omani Vegetable Oils and Derivatives, Modern Dairy Factory, Salalah Macaroni, Areej Vegetable Oils and Derivatives, Salalah Mills, Oman Foodstuff Factory and Sweets of Oman Company.


In addition to promoting their products, these companies will have the opportunity to get acquainted with global products from various countries under one platform. PEIE officials will be present at the platform to underscore the available investment opportunities to prospect investors, business owners and representatives of companies and factories.


The exhibition this year will witness the participation of 120 countries including Malta, Finland and Slovakia which are participating for the first time in the event. Heads of state, ministers, government officials and representatives of trade associations are expected to visit the exhibition. Gulfood 2017 will witness the participation of over 5,000 local, regional and international companies.


This is PEIE’s fifth consecutive participation at Gulfood given the significance of being present is such an important global event.


Through the Sultanate’s pavilion, PEIE aims at highlighting the high quality Omani products and the big demand they receive in local and foreign markets, thus targeting new consumers in both regional and international levels.


It should be noted that Gulfood is celebrating its 22nd edition in 2017, and will welcome F&B professionals from all corners of the globe to meet for 5 days of business within this central hub for international trade and commerce.


The event was launched as a biennial exhibition in 1987 and has grown to promote F&B trade between more than 120 countries annually, enabling 5,000 providers of raw materials and ingredients to showcase the tastes, trends and innovations that reshaping future of food and beverage consumption worldwide. — ONA
