PDO holds seminar on social investment

Salalah: Activities of the PDO seminar, which focuses on social investment under the title ‘Participatory Community Responsibility: Opportunities and Challenges,’ were held on Sunday at the Hilton Salalah Hotel. The event was sponsored by Dr Yahya bin Bader al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, in the presence of under-secretaries, with the participation of 150 specialists and interested persons in the economic and investment aspects. Mohammed bin Ahmed al Ghuraibi, PDO External Affairs and Communications Manager, said that in light of the local and international events, changes have shown the need to think seriously about teamwork or partnership in corporate social responsibility.


He pointed out that the seminar aims to provide an explanation and definition of social investment and successful examples of social responsibility. The seminar also included discussion of some economic topics, including the challenges of current opportunities in the field of social investment. The PDO seminar targeted decision makers in the public and private sectors, a number of specialists in the oil and gas industry, businessmen, academics, researchers, students and interested parties. — ONA
