MUSCAT: The Board of Directors of Social Insurance held its third meeting of the year under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI).
The meeting discussed a number of issues concerning the addressing of certain categories of insured persons registered with PASI, working for various private sector establishments.
The Board followed up the measures taken by PASI Executive Management regarding the improvement of mechanisms in the collection of amounts due to PASI by the employers.
The Board also reviewed the position of implementing some of the strategic projects included in the second phase of the Strategic Plan of PASI
(2016 2020).
On the investment side, the Board adopted the recommendations of the Investment Committee presented to it on a number of domestic and foreign investment opportunities through which PASI seeks to diversify its investment tools and enhance its financial position. — ONA
