The tender and warm sea breeze merrily brushed past me as I stepped on the seemingly familiar soil after a short flight from Karachi to Muscat. The striking similarity in culture, heritage and common maritime boundary made me feel closer to Pakistan when I was actually in Muscat.

Being a frontrunner of peace, diversity and brotherhood, the Omani people and their government are arguably the most forthcoming, welcoming, permitting and hospitable local populace across the globe.

With people coming off from different ethnic lineage and cultural backgrounds, the Omani authorities leave no stones unturned to ensure that diversity and unity go hand in glove with each other. Organising and promoting events that mirror and glorify intrinsic values of different regions and nations plays a pivotal role in interweaving the communities in a closely knitted nexus.

With the help of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the pioneers of the Omani arts movement the Omani Society of Fine Arts (OSFA) was inaugurated in 1993 to promote and host visual talents.

The OSFA raises funds each year with the support of Pakistani volunteers which goes towards helping others. This year marked the sixth event of the OSFA where the committee collected a whopping R0 6,413. Recently we presented the cheque to Dr Aysha al Kiyumi, the goodwill Ambassador of Human Rights and Peace. She commented how the contribution would go a long

way to support the local children that are gifted with autism.

Spectrum themed exhibition of the contemporary art from Pakistan was held from April 2-12, 2018 at the OSFA in Muscat, Oman.

It showcased 90 artworks provided by both established and emerging artists from Pakistan. The artists donated some of their artworks while few pieces were offered at a silent auction.

The spectacle was a sign of the increasing admiration of Pakistani artwork in the Sultanate of Oman.
