Muscat: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs met his counterpart from Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan, who arrived on Tuesday.
Qureshi is leading a 12-member delegation of technical experts representing sectors of bilateral cooperation falling under the purview of Joint Commission whose seventh Session will be co-chaired by the two Foreign Ministers on January 31, followed with ‘Signing Ceremony’ of bilateral Accords.
During his three days of bilateral visit (January 29-31), the foreign minister will participate in a reception hosted by the Pakistani Community. The event will showcase colorful performances by a troupe and band of 50 school children from Pakistan School Muscat and Beacon House representing diverse cultural heritage and National Anthem.
A total of 750 guests have been invited for the occasion. In excess of 50 Pakistanis and Omanis and other nationalities will be presented ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ for their contributions to Pak-Oman Friendship.
Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador of Pakistan Ali Javed expressed great enthusiasm on behalf of all sections of the 272,000 Pakistani community adding that every color in our spectrum in Oman will be present during the Community Event.
