Pakistan Defence Day celebrated

BARKA: Pakistan Defence Day was celebrated at a special event in Barka, in which chief guest Commando (Retd) Farrukh Mahmood, from Pakistan, and Imran Shaukat, a well-known singer from Pakistan, sang national songs.
The celebrations began with recitation of Holy Quran, followed by Naat Sharif and a national song of ISPR and documentary of National Terrorism.
Pakistan Social Club’s Vice-Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Nadeem, and Director Mohammad Ali Fazal delivered speeches regarding Defence Day of Pakistan, while popular poet Marwat Ahmad also spoke,
Commando Farrukh highlighted the memories of the day and offered tributes and reminded the Defence Day martyrs who sacrificed their lives for protecting Pakistan.
The programme was presented under the supervision of Welfare Director Kashif Zaeem Akhtar and Director Public Relations, Ch Abbas, in which Pakistan Social Club Oman event director Qamar Riaz besides Mohammad Naveed Bota, Syed Shafi Arifullah and Director of Bureaucracy, Ali Bounty, Director of Sports, Kaleem Akhtar and Azra Aleem, social worker, also participated.
Mian Mohammad Munir, Chairman of Pakistan Social Club, outlined the events organised by PSC with the support of the new directors for the community.
The current PSC board is committed to celebrate national days, famous and cultural festivals and take steps to make Pak-Oman friendship and Pakistani literature and culture in Oman.
The PSC Chairman thanked all for their cooperation and sponsors, Muhammad Riaz, al Saffa Foods, Stone World International Company, Instant Cash, Rahat Computers, Sohar Poly Ittefaq Travel and Tourism, Bank Muscat, Alamwaj al Sabba Trading.
General Secretary Mohammad Zaeem Akhtar delivered a vote of thanks in the end.
Haji Mohammad Bota and Mohammad Ali Bounty, Imran Shaukat were awarded special shields.
