MUSCAT: The Ministry of Manpower on Monday signed a cooperation programme with the Saudi Cooperative Societies Council for training 45 Saudi students at the Vocational College for Maritime Sciences in Al Khabourah.
The programme includes educating and rehabilitating students in maritime fields in a bid to enhance the ministry’s efforts to promote community support sustainability.
The programme includes 9 modules including maritime safety, radio communications, fishing technologies and maritime machinery, fish quality control and applied works in the sea.
Harib bin Harith al Mahrouqi, Director General of Vocational Training at the Ministry of Manpower said that the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Manpower and the Saudi Cooperative Societies Council is a model for cooperation as it achieves economic diversification and create a qualified and trained human resources that can meet the needs of the Gulf market. — ONA
