MUSCAT: The Oman Association for Disabled (OAD) and Mitsui E&P Middle East B V signed on Thursday at the Ministry of Social Development an agreement to finance and purchase prosthetic appliances for OAD.

Yahya bin Abdullah al A’amri, Chairman of OAD, and Najeeb bin Mohammed al Harthy, Mitsui E&P Middle East B V General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, signed the agreement.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, explained that the signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the cooperation between OAD and Mitsui E & P Middle East B V as it includes the financing of a range of prosthetic devices for people with disabilities who are in disparate need for them, considering the step as part of the responsibility initiatives that encourage many companies operating in the oil and gas sector to do the same.

The Chairman of OAD expressed his thanks to Mitsui E&P Middle East B V initiative and the support of the society with RO 96,000. He explained that the amount will be spent on prosthetic devices that serve people with motor disabilities. At least 350 people will benefit from the deal.
