MUSCAT, JULY 30 - Oman Tourism College entered into a partnership with the national carrier Oman Air as part of a series of long-term agreements with leading companies in the Sultanate’s hospitality and tourism sector. Dr Abdul Karim al Mughairi, Dean of OTC and Paul Gregorowitsch, CEO of Oman Air signed the partnership agreement in the presence of other officials.

Dr Abdul Karim al Mughairi noted: “The College is defining itself as a progressive and dynamic academic institution where learning is driven by practical experience and industry knowledge. With these business partnerships, we are aspiring to bring in even greater industry participation to our programmes so that we can supply the country’s growing tourism sector with a more competent workforce. We are incredibly honoured that Oman Air has agreed to assist us in our objective; together we can set new heights and open up new vistas of opportunity for the country’s tourism sector.”

Oman Air CEO, Gregorowitisch said: “Tourism is a major focus for Oman and the tourism sector continues to grow rapidly. At Oman Air we are determined to aid this growth as much as possible and are delighted to be part of Oman Tourism College’s efforts to build greater efficiencies in the sector. Our aim is to inspire the next generation to take advantage of the growing number of opportunities in Oman’s tourism industry.”

The agreement now formalises Oman Air’s already existing collaboration with OTC and accordingly Oman Air will continue to sponsor students for study trips, host internship students, guest lectures, and provide opportunities for OTC faculty/staff for enhancing industry experience and more. Oman Air is already involved in many of the College’s activities.

Welcoming the partnership, Dr Khalid bin Abdulwahab al Balushi, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at Oman Air, said: “We have no doubt that our continuing collaboration on various initiatives will help the College to expand and enrich its curriculum and continue to attract a high calibre of students.”
