Orpic has announced the appointment of Alexandre Clar as its General Manager (Treasurer) with immediate effect. Alex is a French citizen and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree on Management and Business Administration (MBA).
Commenting on his appointment, Alexandre said, “Orpic’s impressive integration of refinery and plant operations, and its ambitious growth plans, has cemented Orpic as one of the industry’s most forward-thinking companies — with around 2,600 employees working towards the common goal of an integrated Omani refining and petrochemicals business. I am certainly excited to be part of this journey and contribute to this common goal.”
Alexandre is a seasoned Treasury executive who has lived in France, the USA and the Netherlands. Alexandre most recently served as Treasurer for Europe, Middle-East and Africa of PPG Industries Inc (NYSE listed, Fortune 500), #1 worldwide coatings manufacturer.
Prior to that, he was the Group Treasurer of a private equity owned (Bain Capital) company named SigmaKalon, a European leader in speciality chemicals.
Earlier in his career, Alexandre performed several roles including Head of Group Corporate Funding in Suez/Gaz-de-France, one of the world leaders in Energy and Power.
