Ooredoo powers Omani film production house for film edutainment competition

MUSCAT: Ooredoo officially sponsored the Sultanate’s sole shortlisted entry in the MBC 1 edutainment competition show Qomrah 2 out of more than 24,000 idea pitcher and film-maker; in one of the most popular programmes this Ramadhan.


Developed by Ki-Bros Productions, an all Omani team of film production specialists based in Muscat, the film ‘Olympics of Civilizations’ was written, filmed and produced in the Sultanate with the full support of Ooredoo.


Qomrah 2 is a television show designed to encourage individuals and production teams to create edutainment media content tackling different aspects of society and enter them for a chance to have their film showcased during Ramadhan to more than 20 million worldwide viewers on MBC1 and social media platforms.


Each episode will feature an entry and a number for fans to vote, with three winners selected based on an independent jury as well as the viewer’s votes at the end of the holy month.


The winning films will receive approximately RO 100,000, with the second and third place film winning RO 10,000 and RO 5,000 respectively.

Ki-Bros Productions is a start-up company that has earned a great reputation since opening its doors.


Winner of the ‘Best Omani Small Project in the GCC Region’ award during the 31st session of the Council of Labour Ministers, Ki-Bros Productions’ founders also received first prize during the 2008 Gulf Film Festival.
