Muscat – Reports of traffic accidents continue to come in at regular intervals despite efforts by the authorities.
On Saturday, Mwasalat in a statement confirmed an accident involving one of its buses (Route 6 plying between SQU and Burj al Sahwa) and a vehicle.
Based on the information compiled from its video footage, Mwasalat said the accident was a result of over-speeding and over-taking by a vehicle, coming from the opposite direction, which collided with the Mwasalat bus.
The statement said the bus driver tried his best to save the situation.
The accident resulted in the death of the driver of the vehicle while a number of bus passengers suffered minor injuries.
The company in its statement urged everyone to follow traffic rules to ensure the safety of all road users.
