OMSB to charge fees for various services

By Ohood AlJilaniya — MUSCAT: March 5 - The Oman Medical Speciality Board (OMSB) has imposed fees on services offered in six sectors as per the decision No. 9/2017 issued by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health. The new-declared fees have been imposed on setting for international tests, the board’s classrooms, laboratories and auditorium leasing, authorisation of educational centres, programmes, events and activities, setting for speciality and standardised examinations, health certificates and scientific degrees’ equivalence, evaluation and verification and advertising in Oman Medical Journal.


If a tenant is looking for a big auditorium, he or she should pay RO 250 and around RO 500 for renting the centre of clinical tests. Applicants for standardised and speciality tests are obliged to pay mount ranging from $175 to 195; The newly graduated Omani physician is exempted from fee-payment for the only first test. If a physician wants a certificate’s verification, he has to pay RO 135. A university nurse required to pay RO 110, while a diploma nurse must pay RO 100 and RO 110 for verifying a pharmacist’s certificates and experiences.
