Oman win 3 medals at Asian Para Games

DUBAI: The Omani team for visually impaired has won 3 medals (1 silver and 2 bronze) on the second day of the third Asian Youth Para Games being held in Dubai, UAE during December 9-14, thus bringing their total medal count to 4. On day two of the event, the Omani sprinter Emad al Haji won two gold medals in the 200 m dash in T12 class. He also won the 800-m race bronze medal on top of the 100-m gold medal he won on day 1. Oman’s team will compete in the events of long jump, shot put and 400 metre dash. With the participation of more than 800 athletes from 30 Asian countries the third Asian Youth Para Games is the biggest Paralympics ever held. The Sultanate’s team comprises 4 visually impaired players aging between 14 to 19 years old: Qusai al Rawahi, Jasim al Nahdi, Salim al Sharji and Emad al Haji.
