Oman, US hold talks on Gulf crisis: Foreign Ministry

MUSCAT: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, on Thursday received a telephone call from Rex Tillerson, US Secretary of State, to discuss the Gulf crisis and relations between two countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.


The two ministers also reviewed the developments in the region and the current Gulf crisis.


During the call, the Sultanate reaffirmed its support for Kuwait Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir al Sabah to resovle the crisis.


Bin Alawi said the U.S role is important and needed to find solutions to settle such differences. He said the Sultanate is confident that GCC states will overcome this crisis and serve the joint interests of the GCC peoples and maintain the security and stability of the region. — ONA
