MUSCAT, May 14 - Oman national U-16 team will play around 20 friendly matches as part of its preparations for the Asian Cup championship in Malaysia in September, the assistant head coach Hilal al Oufi, said in a statement. Oman will face Iraq and Iran in its confirmed friendly matches. The U-16s will have an internal camp on May 30 in Muscat or Al Buraimi. The Oman U-16 team will commence its participation in Asian Cup by facing Yemen on September 21 and also take on Jordan on September 24. The third match will be against DPR Korea on September 27. Oman national team were very close to the semifinal in last edition as they lost against Korea DPR in quarterfinal.
