Oman players in Qatar to join Jordan camp today

MUSCAT, Sept 3 - Oman national football team's professional players in Qatar League will join the Jordan camp on Tuesday. Players continued their preparation under supervision of coach Pim Verbeek for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 to be held in the UAE next January. Ahmed Kanu, Oman team captain who lifted the latest Gulf Cup in Kuwait, will join the camp on Tuesday. Along with Kanu, Mohammed Faraj Nader Awadh and Jameel al Yahmadi will participate in the training camp. The remaining professional players Ali al Habsi, Raed Ibrahim and Said al Ruzaiqi have already joined the camp.


The first training session for the team was on Sunday as the team arrived in Amman city. The training periods were divided into two sessions — morning where technical committee focused on physical fitness part and evening session delved on some technical tactics. The Jordan camp will include two friendly matches for the national team. First match is scheduled to be against Lebanon on September 9, while the GCC cup champions will take on Jordan on September 11 in the second match.


Coach Veerbeek announced the squad of team recently and included the following players: Mohammed al Musalami, Ali al Busaidy, Ali Salim, Basil al Rawahi, Harib al Saadi, Al Mundher al Alawi, Moutaz Saleh, Mohammed al Mashari (Dhofar), Ahmed Faraj, Omar al Fazari, Mahmood al Mushaifri, Khalid al Beriki, Khalid al Hajri (Al Nasr), Mohsen Jawher (Sohar), Ali al Jabri (Al Nahdha), Yasin al Shiyadi, Mohsin al Ghassani (Al Suwaiq), Ali al Habsi (Al Hilal), Fayez al Rushaidi (Al Ain), Said al Ruzyaqi ( Al Taie), Ahmed Mubarek (Musaimier), Mohammed Faraj, Jameel al Yahmadi (Al Wakrah), Abdul Aziz al Muqbali (Al Shamal), Nader Awadh (Al Shehaniah) and Raed Ibrahim (Valeta).
