Changzhou, China -  The Oman U-23 team will play their last round-robin match of the AFC U-23 football championship against Uzbekistan U-23 team at the Changzhou Sports Centre here on Monday. The Sultanate’s under-23 team is yet to open their account in the tournament so far with two losses in as many games against China and Qatar respectively. Oman lost their first match against China 3-0 followed by a 1-0 defeat to regional rivals Qatar. Oman will have their task cut out against a resurgent Uzbek outfit, who beat hosts China 1-0 in their last game. Coach Hamad al Azzani will be hoping to salvage some pride after the two defeats have almost dented Oman’s chances of qualifying for the last-eight stage. Qatar, who are on top of Group A with six points and China and Uzbekistan sharing three points each are likely to go through to the quarterfinals.
