MUSCAT, FEB 7 -

In its quest to safeguard intellectual property, Oman LNG has gone extra lengths to secure its information technology systems and processes by receiving the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate.

Oman LNG received the critical ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate focused on Information and information processing facilities including information security, IT Strategy and planning, and IT infrastructure services on a secured network system.

“We are delighted to receive the ISO certificate in building a successful and best-in-class information security management system to further secure Oman LNG’s information and processes”, said Saif al Harthy, Chief Corporate Services and Investments.

“The certificate will enable continuous improvement, reviews and enable standards to be put in place. As our lives and businesses become ever more digitalised, so does our encounter with cybercrime increase. It is important that we secure our intellectual property, personal information and security of our assets wherever we can.”

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications and standards help organisations keep assets secure and up-to-date. This particular certificate — ISO/IEC 27001:2013 — addresses information security management and will enable Oman LNG to manage and protect security systems and processes better, especially those that contain financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to the company by others and third parties.
